GTF STRIVES TO FEED LOCAL COMMUNITY QUALITY PRODUCE

John Eveland, owner of Gathering Together Farm, hikes over rocky paths, often stopping to make a phone call.

"We have a small lake in the middle of the crop," Eveland said.

A sprinkler had suddenly broken in a field.

LET UM EAT

John Eveland first started growing organic vegetables over 30 years ago, to meet the demands of Nearly Normal’s, a vegetarian restaurant he had opened with his sister and a few friends in Corvallis. They were having a hard time finding good quality produce in the area and so John took it into his own hands. “And it’s a slippery slope” he says.

BUILDING COMMUNITY THROUGH FOOD PARTNERSHIPS

New farms and food artisans continue to pop up in our community. In the case of Gathering Together Farm (GTF), multiple farms have popped up within a couple of mile radius over the past few years and some food artisans have even gotten their start within Gathering Together Farm, such as Burnheimer Meat Co. and Weinsteiger Mustard Co.
