What is CSA?
CSA
is the acronym for Community Supported Agriculture, a grass roots movement
to bring consumers into a closer relationship to their food production.
Become a member of our CSA program to receive a weekly food box full of
delicious, seasonal produce.
Gathering Together Farm's started the CSA program in 1996. Over the years
the relationships we have developed with our members have proved important
and enriching for all involved. Through our weekly newsletters, seasonal
festivals, farm tours, and conversations we offer you a rooted connection
to our farm and the food you eat.
CSA Scholarship Fund
In 2008 we raised $535 and helped three families participate in Gathering Together Farm's CSA. Thank you so much to those of you who contributed. In 2009 we will again be collecting donations to subsidize up to 50% of a CSA share for low-income families. If you would like to contribute, any amount would be appreciated. Checks marked "Scholarship Fund" can be made out to Gathering Together Farm and sent to 25159 Grange Hall Rd, Philomath OR 97370. For more information, or if you would like to apply for assistance, please contact us at the above number or email address.
2009 CSA Program
We offer 11 different pick-up locations: five in the Portland area, three at Corvallis Farmers' Markets and neighborhoods, on the coast in Newport and Yachats, and of course here at our farm in Philomath.
Our season runs 22 weeks, from June 1 - October 31. The price is $475, same as last year.
We will not be offering a 3/4 share in 2009, as part of an overall effort to simplify the operation here at GTF. We are sorry for the inconvenience to our 3/4 members, and hope you will consider joining up with another household to share the produce, or making the move up to a full box. |
Sample Boxes:
June: Tomatoes, strawberries, sweet onions, new red potatoes, red cabbage, collards, lettuce, colored carrots, zucchini & cucumbers
July: blueberries, corn, red potatoes, cilantro, lettuce, arugula, sweet onions, carrots, broccoli, red onion & tomatoes

40
Different Crops
We grow 40 different crops of 100 different varieties so
that your box is always full of a diversity of produce. You can
enjoy the convenience of a weekly box of produce which provides
the finest fruits and vegetables of each season. |
|
Farm Gatherings
Every season we invite our CSA members to come out to the farm to see the fields along the Mary's River where their greens, potatos and berries are grown. In the spring you can meet your fellow CSA members while enjoying the view from GTF's restaurant deck, and pizza from the wood-fired oven. In the fall you can ride the flatbed out to the pumpkin field and pick your family jack-o-lanterns for the year. |
|
Weekly
Newsletters
Each week we provide a newsletter with updates on crops,
hot recipes, and anecdotes on farm life, so that you, the members,
feel like part of the farm. |
|
Vacation Credits
Knowing many families vacation during the summer, we provide
up to two weeks vacation credit to be cashed in on canning or storage
vegetables. |
